SPORTS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Basketball

Type: In person

Volunteers for Special Olympics Edmonton give technical support for sport training programs, competitions and also get involved in hosting fundraising events. 

Type: In person

Volunteers include at least one parent/guardian per household with a child involved in the soccer program. There are several opportunities for volunteers to become involved in soccer and non-soccer related activities with time commitments that are flexible.

Volunteers are involved in both indoor and outdoor activities. Indoor activities include administrative tasks, assisting with equipment, assisting in the rental area, etc. The outdoor activities include assistance with equipment, ski and snowboard instructors, chairlift loading, assistance with games, etc.

Volunteers will get a chance to travel the world on behalf of GVI’s sport coaching opportunities and be able to interact and play sports with disadvantaged children in low income communities. Some of these communities are located in South Africa, Costa Rica and India.

Type: In person

Volunteers help run the program and gain the experience and training of working with disabled individuals. Volunteers additionally help the Paralympic Sports Association in implementing programs.

Type: In person

Volunteers for indoor activities such as administrative tasks, assisting individuals with equipment, assisting in the rental area, with giving tickets out, etc. For outdoor volunteers, we are seeking assistance with loading and unloading vehicles, equipment, transportation to/from the parking lot to the lodge, outfitting and adjusting equipment, ski and snowboard instructors, chairlift loading, assistance with fun games, etc.
